Nella is truly an outstanding dark bay/black 16.2 hand pure Hanoverian filly with both magnificent temperament and conformation, nice forward going with flowing movement and a beautiful extended trot. She is bred for showjumping with an outstanding pedigree by Gran Fernando that was a international A-Grader and out of Sing Song that is currently competing in SA.

 

Gran Fernando's bloodline includes names like Gotthard that was the leading sire of show jumpers (Goya, Goldika, Gonzales, Galipolis, Queensway Big Q, Goldfink, Golden Gate, Graf Sieno and Graf 2) for several years in Germany. His influence continues to present day. He was the sire of over 34 licensed stallions including Goldberg and 26 State Premium mares (including world cup winner The Natural and Voltaire, both out of Gotthard mares). Eventually his competing progeny numbered 398, with earnings of almost two million deutschmarks.

 

 

Nella's basic dressage training was done by German Dressage champ Armin Fritz who described her as a “willing and task focused mare with good movements.”  Karla Ekstrom, a well-known jumping instructor from Cape Town described her as: “never seen such a good jumper in 20 years.”
