Alabama is a very well bred appaloosa sporthorse mare standing at 15.3hands at 5 years of age. She floats when she moves with a perfect conformation and a very good disposition. She scored a very high mark during her inspection with Dr. Sandy Waddingham (well known racehorse breeder and vet).

She is by the renowned stallion Alpha Tobys Moonshine. Moonshine produced multiple champions including the 2008 National Champion stallion-KondosTotal Eclipse as well as numerous others including her full sister Kondos Quality Street. Quality Street has been claming the show ring as her own since a weanling and received the title again in 2008 as the National Champion mare. Alabama is out of a Brandenburg bred warmblood mare named Shiraz that is by the legendary Sabastian that does not need any further introduction in the competitive warmblood circles.

Sabastian was one of the most influential warmblood stallions in the country with worldwide renowned bloodlines. He competed successfully in International showjumping competitions in Holland, Belgium and England. He was imported into SA in 1989 by the Brandenburg stud where he continued jumping A-grade, winning amongst others the A-grade championship in Sun City. He is the full brother of Olympic Destiny that competed for Holland at the World Showjumping Championships, Olympics and World Cup finals. Sabastian's sire, Sebastiaan, is also a very versatile horse that competed in the National Cups, Showjumping and Dressage up to Grand Prix.
