Pistachio is from the famous imported American appaloosa sport horse line, Wap Spotted and Wap Spot II. He is standing at 16 hands at the age of only 3 years with excellent temperament and good straight proportioned conformation. Currently being trained in Dressage and will start his show career this year. Pistachio is an eager learner that wants to please, we are sure that he will give the appaloosa name a huge boost in the shows competing against warmbloods and thb's. Pistachio is registered with the appaloosa horse breeders society of SA as a breeding stallion. Offspring from registered appaloosa, warmblood, arab, thb, quarter horse mares will be eligible for registration.

He has sired 3 foals up to date, tall and load coloured foals with excellent conformation and temperament.

May 2008: Pistachio attended his first dressage clinic over the weekend by one of the top German riders in the country, Armin Fritz. Being the only Appaloosa he had the attention of many, but not once did he miss behave and Armin commented on the potential of this young stallion as a future champion!

September 2008: We are proud to announce that Pistachio attended his first show and won most of his classes against all other breeds, except for one where he was placed second. This is exceptional show results for such a young stallion with mares next to him, in season, in the line up. The weather could not have been worse with rain, hale and wind, through all of this Pistachio was well behaved at the show and truly represented the breed.

We are sad to announce that Alpha Waps Pistachio past away early in the morning hours at the Drakenstein Veterinary hospital on the 09 March 2009 due to Botulism. This great horse, at the age of only 4 years, has definitely made his mark in the appaloosa sporthorse world and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
